CBAA Annual Fall Art Festival 2026

CELEBRATE THE CHESAPEAKE BAY ART ASSOCIATION’S 62st ANNUAL FALL ART FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3-4 2026 FROM 10am-5pm.

The Chesapeake Bay Art Association (CBAA) has continued to grow throughout the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area, and each year CBAA welcomes artists both locally and nationally to gather for a celebration of the arts at our Annual Fall Art Festival to display and sell their artistic creations while gaining exposure. At this 2 day juried art festival, engage with professional artists, high school students, members and volunteers of the CBAA organization, CBAA sponsors, Musicians, food truck vendors, City of Norfolk and community attendants! This year, in the interest of growing the show, expanding offerings, and maintaining the show in Norfolk, CBAA is holding the annual art festival at Lakewood Park, Norfolk, VA. All efforts/proceeds from this annual show are to raise funds to benefit the CBAA Scholarship Fund and support high school students pursuing further education in the arts. Experience the excitement as artists (student and professional artists) receive award prizes during the show! Find unique gifts and enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere where music and aromas from food trucks fill the air! Let’s celebrate joy and support the art/creative community. For any further questions please email: ovartshowjury@gmail.com. Click on the event map/index for a printable version to plan your visit.

The Ellen B. McKinnon Memorial Award

Ellen B. McKinnon lived in Ocean View in the mid-20th Century and began exploring her love of art, particularity painting, late in her life. She enthusiastically joined the Chesapeake Bay Art Association while in her 60's and, in the 1950's, was the oldest woman (at the time) ever accepted to Pratt Art Institute in New York. Due to an unfortunate accident that occurred in New York prior to her starting at Pratt, she never got to experience a formal art education, but her skills were well known both in the community and her family.

This award, started by Ellen McKinnon's daughter and former Food Editor of the Ledger Star/Virginian Pilot, Grace M. Sumner, is always presented to a novice artist who has never won an award. This award is unique to our show and is meant to encourage new artists who are often exhibiting for the first time. This prestigious award is always a favorite among the artists in our show each year and was continued after Mrs. Sumner's passing by her daughter, Ellen Sumner Vecchietti and then by her daughters, Cheryl and Stacie Vecchietti, after her passing. Hugh Vecchietti McFarlane, Stacie's son, is the 4th generation of the family to be involved in selecting the winner and plans to proudly continue the tradition as long as CBAA is willing to have it be a part of the Annual Art Show.

As a member of CBAA you have the opportunity to sell your work in the CBAA Member’s Tent at the Fall Art Festival . The number of artists is limited to 12. First come, first served. Please read the guidelines and contact the administrator to be included. We will also have a waiting list for additional artists.
